How Dr. Abeye Treats Sports Injuries
Most Sports Injuries are Highly Treatable
At Dr. Abeye’s clinic, we always begin with the most conservative, non-surgical approaches, increasing intervention levels as necessary to achieve relief from pain, increased strength and range of motion.
Non-Operative Sports Injury Interventions
Many sports injuries benefit from bracing, buddy-taping, rest, ice, heat and common over-the-counter medications such as NSAIDs. Physical therapy can often be useful as well.
Non-Surgical Sports Injury Intervention: Steroid Injections
For certain injuries – especially chronic injuries – a steroid injection can help reduce inflammation, promoting healing of the joint or tendon in question.
Surgical Sports Injury Treatments
There are some sports injuries, such as ligament and tendon tears, which typically require surgery. At Dr. Abeye’s clinic, our goal is to get athletes back in the game as soon as possible.
